Denial

Here is Dill, relaxing in a shoebox -
even if it kills him.
His refusal to align his thinking with his reality
comforts me tonight; for I am wanting to indulge
in some of the same myself.
The next week will be filled with visits to
doctors - and no matter which way I turn,
I cannot seem to find a good fit for myself
in any of that.
So - I will hide in my own little box,
where I will be comfortable...
I will, I will, I will.

I don't know, so I don't know what to say-- is this my own form of denial?

Good luck on all that Doctor business. I have finally had to adopt a fatalistic attitude towards all the Docs I seem to be employing ... I've developed a 'quiet lamb to the slaughter' sub-personality.

When I reread this, it seems more serious than I intended...
In fact, I have no idea
what's going on.
Maybe heart, maybe blood, maybe middle-aged-woman stuff...or a scintillating combination of the three.

Not to seem too glib, but I have found that if I don't go to the doctor, they don't find anything wrong with me... Great picture of your cat. I have a friend who told me recently that the reason she absolutely has to have cats in her life is because of the way they completely surrender to their small pleasures: sleeping, eating, grooming. Such self-satisfied little Buddhas.

I feel lucky to have a good doctor here in Seattle. She's a naturopath AND MD. Good combo. She always asks me...do you want to treat this in a traditional fashion or more naturally?

As for cats, they are so more than can be explained. I miss having them around, purring next to me while I sleep. Chester would not have such a beast in his house, hence, we are cat-less for the time being.

Good luck with the medical business and if you need a name of a doc in Seattle, let me know.

thanks na - I will keep your offer firmly in mind (and hope I don't need to take you up on it).
